Raise It Up - With Lift Kits

Lift kits.... are use to either raise the body of the vehicle or the suspension.

These are the two ways that it is done.

  • The body lift kit raises the body up off of the frame of the vehicle
  • A suspension lift kit alters the height of the suspension components that makes the body and frame higher off of the ground.

Reasons that people have these liftkits installed are for looks, ground clearance, or to just be King of the Block that has the coolest vehicle that seems to take a step ladder to get into it.

Although you may install a lift kit yourself. It is advisable to have a certified technician or someone that is equally as quaffed and knows what they're doing when it comes to this kind of work. The reason for this is that it may radically affect the way your vehicle may drive as a result of the installation.

Where are Lift Kits Used

Even though most lift kits are used on the many varieties of trucks, there are kits for lifting other types of vehicles, even golf carts. Also it may be a 4 wheel or two wheel drive car, truck or what ever.

Prices vary dependant on to what degree you want to lift your vehicle and how, whether body or suspension or both.

These kits are available from some well known suspension component manufactures such as Rancho etc.

Warning

Any alteration to your suspension or body and frame may alter the way your vehicle drives and handles both on and off the road. Your vehicle may be easier to roll with a higher centre of gravity so please alter your driving style accordingly as to assure safe driving for yourself and other vehicles.
